Live with Kelly and Michael my two cents

Image
Here’s my two cents on something that seems unimportant to most people the Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan situation. People are taking sides and “picking a team” but the reality is they are both adults and they are on a TV show. The executives that pay them care about their bottom line: profit. Ripa may be learning her feeling of staff and co-workers as “ family ” doesn’t really gel with the reality of a cutthroat business that really only cares about the numbers and profitability of their product. The people that want to paint Ripa as “female” and she shouldn’t have taken a sick day want to chastise someone who took one day extra off. In the “real world” meaning people who aren’t on TV, think about you and your co-workers. How many people have taken a sick day because they were hung over or had a sudden emergency. It happens all the time and no one is taking sides. Ripa is correct, there was a lack of respect here. She has been a long term employee and she is vested about her ...

Israel’s entrant to the Eurovision Song Contest said he was harassed by Russian border control officers while travelling to Moscow for a preview event, blaming the harassment on his being gay. The incident took place a couple weeks ago, but Hovi Star spoke about it on Friday during a television interview on Maltese television station TVM. “Maybe people in Moscow have a rough time with people like me, maybe because I’m gay, maybe because I dress like this, maybe because I wear make-up, I don’t know. But when I wanted to get into Moscow, I had problems with passport control. They told me I can’t go in, they looked at my passport, they ripped my passport and then they laughed at me,” he told the interviewers. Star’s song for the contest, “Made of Stars,” reportedly is popular in Malta. Following the Incident, Star was issued a new passport by the Israeli consulate in Moscow to replace the ripped one. The incident first became public when the Spanish contestant to Eurovis...

Being a Jehovah's witness may have played into the under-treatment and neglect of needed treatment that could have prevented the death of Prince. His new law states that transgender people must use public bathrooms according to the gender on their birth certificates. Mississippi's law has a similar ...

Image
APRIL 17, 2016   7:38pm PT by  Alyse Whitney Once Upon a Time  finally made good on its promise to include a gay storyline in season five, and it was an unexpected choice. Although Mulan (Jamie Chung) revealed her unrequited love for Princess Aurora (Sarah Bolger) in season three, she wasn’t the one in a new relationship in Sunday’s episode, “Ruby Slippers.” However, she did help make it happen. While Mulan is helping Ruby (Meghan Ory) find her wolf pack in Oz, they meet Dorothy (Teri Reeves) and help her try to take down Zelena (Rebecca Mader) when she steals Dorothy’s dog Toto. Ruby and Dorothy end up bonding over shared family problems, and Ruby turns to Mulan for advice about her feelings. “I know we just met, but I have never felt like this about anyone before,” she tells Mulan. “Don’t make the same mistake that I did. Don’t wait until it’s too late to tell someone how you feel,” Mulan replies, but by the time Ruby goes to do so, Dorothy is gone. REA...

Pastor Jordan Brown says he found an anti-gay slur on the cake he bought from Whole Foods for a congregation member. (Kaplan Law Firm) AUSTIN, Texas – A Texas pastor is suing Whole Foods after he says a bakery worker added an anti-gay slur to the message he requested on his frosted cake. Brown, who is openly gay and preaches at the non-denominational  Church of Open Doors , went to the flagship Whole Foods in Austin, Texas to buy a cake for one of his congregation members, according to a lawsuit filed in Travis County court. The pastor says he pointed to a blank, pre-frosted cake and asked the bakery worker to write “Love Wins” on the frosting. It was not until he walked out of the N. Lamar Blvd. store, got into his car and looked down at the cake that he saw written in blue icing, “Love Wins F**,” according to the suit. After leaving a voicemail with the corporate office that he says wasn’t returned, Jordan called the store, his lawyers say. Team Leader Geoff Nunez was...
