Gay waitress in North Carolina receives Bible lecture on receipt instead of tip: 'There's a lot of hate in Charlotte right now'

RUDE and CHRISTIAN... funny how the judgement of "religious" folk goes against everything Jesus was about. The walls of hell will be lined with the judgement of the "christian" with that huge log in their own eye. - m.t.

Gay waitress Alexandra Judd was left a Bible verse as a tip earlier this week.

A gay waitress in North Carolina received a Bible lecture — instead of a tip — from a diner earlier this week.
Alexandra Judd was shocked to see "lev 20.13," short for Leviticus 20:13, where the gratuity should have been while serving brunch at Zada Jane's Corner Cafe in Charlotte on Tuesday. The receipt also included the words "praying for you."
The King James Bible version of Leviticus 20:13 reads: "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."
The incident comes just weeks after North Carolina passed its anti-LGBT House Bill 2 into law. The so-called "bathroom bill" forces people to use public restrooms or changing facilities of the "biological sex listed on their birth certificates." It was signed into law by Gov. Pat McCrory.
"There's a lot of hate in Charlotte right now," Judd told the Daily News on Friday.
The 20-year-old Judd remembers the two women at the table on Tuesday were both acting rude and ignoring her.
"They just wouldn't talk to me, wouldn't answer my questions," she said. "They were really off, it was just rude."
The women asked for separate checks, and one of them gave Judd a tip, albeit not a generous one. The other customer left the patronizing gratuity.

The customer wrote

"praying for you"

in addition to

referencing

Leviticus 20:13.

The shocked Judd angrily crossed out the name of the customer before posting the receipt on Facebook, so she is unsure of the woman's identity. She didn't tell them she was gay, but they must have just assumed, she said.
"I never thought people would discriminate against my sexuality that way," Judd said.
She won't let the discrimination deter her, but she's worried how it would affect someone else if it happened again.
"Suicide is so common with the LGBT community, especially with young people," she said. "People not as mentally strong as I am, something bad could happen."
The day after getting the "Bible tip," Judd participated in a rally in Charlotte to protest the anti-LGBT bill. She said it was peaceful and fun.
"It was actually amazing," she said. "People trying to make a difference and fighting back."
